Overview
Developed a clean, high-converting e-commerce platform for Wood Ceylon, a premium Sri Lankan brand specializing in handmade teak wood furniture and home décor. Built a minimalist, image-rich storefront with product collections, finish/size variants, cart & checkout flow, custom-order inquiries, promotional banners, and responsive design that beautifully showcases the natural grain and sustainable craftsmanship to drive global sales. ------ Design Process: I started with deep brand research to capture Wood Ceylon’s essence: premium, sustainable Sri Lankan teak furniture and home décor that emphasizes natural craftsmanship and warmth. The aim was a serene, image-driven online store that highlights product beauty while delivering smooth shopping. 1. Discovery & Moodboarding — Competitor analysis in the furniture sector + mood boards focused on earthy tones, high-resolution lifestyle imagery, and wood texture details. 2. Wireframing & Information Architecture — Mobile-first wireframes with intuitive navigation, product grids, variant selectors, and strong CTAs for custom orders. 3. Visual Design — Warm neutral palette (teak browns, soft whites, dark accents), elegant typography, and large product photography with hover effects. 4. User Experience Optimization — Seamless cart flow, filtering, responsive product pages, and fast-loading experience. Iteration & Polish — Multiple rounds of client feedback on imagery, copy, and micro-interactions, plus trust elements (testimonials, Instagram integration). Tools Used: • Design: Figma (wireframing, UI design, prototyping, mood boards) • Development: Shopify (e-commerce platform, theme customization, product variants, cart & checkout) • Additional: Photoshop / Lightroom for image optimization, Google Analytics for performance tracking The final result is a clean, premium-feeling storefront that beautifully showcases sustainable teak products and drives conversions.
